I have worked with Paul for several years and have always admired his patience, calmness and has always been the most polite and gentle person. During the NASA project , Paul was one of the FAMs we had to interact with for Austria Station roll out and his professionalism was indeed remarkable to accept change.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Paul during the recent GFM in Dubai and it was shocking to hear of his passing away, soon after.
My condolences go out to Ingrid and his close family. May God give them the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss.

I had the pleasure of working with Paul over the past 17 years and there are no words that can ease the pain of Paul's sudden passing.
Always supportive, friendly and kind whenever I visited the EK office in Vienna.. you will be terribly missed Paul.

Paul was not only an outstanding professional, but also a person of rare kindness, generosity, and humanity. Although I didn't know him well, I had the chance to speak with him briefly while we were queuing for lunch during the recent Global Finance Meeting in Dubai. I was heartbroken to hear of Paul's passing, and I want to extend my deepest condolences to his family, colleagues, friends and those whose life he touched.
I had the privilege of working closely with Paul over the past 5 years, and in that time, he became my go to person on all remuneration topics for the station. Paul had so much patience and he brought such dedication, warmth, and integrity to everything he did.

Knowing Paul from my time at EK-VIE and FRA, he was always putting in the effort to resolve problems, to fix things - even if it meant staying longer at work. It is all the more heartbreaking that he now left this world way too soon. Joining EK as Finance in Ireland, my first meeting was in Vienna in 2012 and Paul went over and above to ensure that I was made welcome. He was considerate, hospitable and a complete gentleman and I was eternally grateful. During my tenure I met with Paul on many occasions and always found him to be a man of great integrity, a good sense of humor and a great colleague.

In Memory of a Valued Colleague
I am deeply saddened by the sudden and unexpected passing of Paul.
Over the past 16 years, we worked closely together, Paul being an integral part of our Central Europe Finance Team. He was not only a highly skilled and dedicated professional, but also a genuinely warm and thoughtful human being. His integrity, his clarity of thought, and his heartfelt way of interacting with others made him truly exceptional.
It feels especially difficult to grasp this loss, as we only recently stood together in Dubai, proudly receiving the Group Finance Excellence Award 2025 in the category “We are a global united team.” That evening, we sat outdoors as the Central Europe team—Paul right there with us, enjoying his Guinness, sharing stories, laughter, and the strong sense of connection that made our team so special.
His passing leaves a profound void—not only for me personally, but for our entire Finance team across Central Europe. We mourn him deeply, and his memory will remain with us always.

It’s hard to believe that Paul is no more!
I had the pleasure of knowing Paul for just over a year but because we shared a similar working style, mindset, and values around life and work, we bonded and connected instantly. He became like a father figure to me - always ready with advice and willing to share his thoughts on anything I brought to him. He was incredibly patient, a great listener, had an amazing sense of humour, and was truly a kind and caring soul.
Usually, FAMs connect with us through Teams or email for help/queries, but Paul went out of his way to come up to the 5th floor just to say hello to me. It may seem like a small gesture but it meant a lot to me.
I saw him during GFM and then we last spoke just two days before his passing. I told him about an event I’ll be hosting soon for EKRS, and his last words to me were "Best of luck, and let me know how that goes." I keep thinking about those words now, they were so simple and yet they showed how genuinely he cared. It’s hard to believe I won’t get to tell him how it went.
That day he also mentioned about working from home due to some illness, and I had messaged him on 25th May to ask how he was feeling but I could never have imagined why I didn’t get a reply.
Gone too soon. May God give his family the strength to bear this immense loss. Rest in peace, Paul.

I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to both of you and the family for this unmeasurable sudden loss.
May the Almighty give you the strength during these very emotional and heart breaking moments of trauma. This very unexpected loss for your family, friends and people associated to you all is a shuddering shock. My prayers go out for you all to deal with various aspects that have suddenly unfolded in your life for your valued irreplaceable loss.
I express my tearful fair well with a heavy heart for having known Paul since the past 20 years.
Having worked with Paul for 13 odd years and having being away since 9 years thereafter, I too have felt the impact. I had learnt a lot under Paul’s leadership. After I left Vienna, I was happy that we could exchange present conversations and have short chats via text from time to time. It was very nice to have been welcomed so warmly by him to the office last May 2024 when I paid a visit to the office at Vienna. I will always remember him for years to come, his laughter and pleasant smile and all that I learnt to become a perfectionist in all that I do. Thanks to him.

Dear family and friends of Paul,
I have first met Paul in June 2009 when I started to work for Emirates' GSA in Prague and quickly realised that Paul is one of those people who are always ready to help with any question I may have. Always in a friendly and polite way.
I still have emails from that time in my mail archive and when I opened them today and read them, I read them in my head in Paul's voice and diction. Strange and amiable. And it brought memories of those nice times...
Paul then helped us tremendously in late spring 2010 when we launched Prague route. He has spent a lot of time with our new team in our temporary office in Prague. Very often we were clueless how things should work, who to contact in Dubai with our questions, who may have an answer for us. Oh, we were so helpless with many issues related to IT. And it was always Paul who helped in his polite and friendly way. Without Paul, everything would have been two, three times more difficult.
I did not see Paul often in recent years but always remember time we spent together and I will be always grateful for what he did for us.
I will miss Paul but he will live in my memories forever. As a kind-hearted, polite and funny person, as a friend.
